The Universal Maidens Association Cameroon (UNIMAC) is committed to fostering community empowerment, gender equity, and sustainable development. Our service pillars are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on inclusive growth, peacebuilding, and human rights. Furthermore, our comprehensive range of services reflects our mission to create inclusive, informed, and proactive societies. Below are the core service areas that define our operational framework.
UNIMAC advocates for policies and practices that promote equality, justice, and inclusive participation at all levels. Through campaigns, public dialogues, policymakers, international partners and stakeholder engagement, we champion the rights of marginalized groups, positive legislative and policy reforms that align with human rights especially women and youth
We develop and maintain databases to enhance data-driven decision-making and program effectiveness. These include registries for beneficiaries, vulnerable groups, community organizations, youth networks, and women’s initiatives, fostering collaboration and transparency
UNIMAC supports economic empowerment through entrepreneurship training, incubation, and mentorship. We target women and youth, providing resources to help launch and scale businesses, thereby promoting financial independence and community development.
The organization relies on support through donations to fund its programs and activities. Donations can be made in cash or in kind. In-kind donations can include; food, clothing, medical supplies, and educational materials.
Our programs advocate for the rights of women and girls, promote equal opportunities, and combat gender-based violence. We conduct gender audits, community dialogues, and educational campaigns to dismantle harmful norms and a fair goal of inclusive society for all.
UNIMAC delivers emergency relief and post-crisis support to displaced persons, survivors of gender-based violence, distribution, shelter, psychosocial services and communities affected by conflict or natural disasters. Our humanitarian efforts prioritize dignity, inclusion, and resilience-building.
We promote community health through campaigns, mobile clinics, education, outreach, and service delivery in areas such as reproductive health, mental health, nutrition, and hygiene. UNIMAC also works to link vulnerable populations to quality health services and referrals.
UNIMAC offers guidance and support in drafting and reviewing legal contracts for community initiatives, businesses, and civil society projects. This ensures compliance, accountability, and protection of rights in all engagements.
Our preventive programs target drug abuse, human trafficking, child labor, crime, early marriage, school dropout and gender-based violence. We use education, media, and peer advocacy to change attitudes and behaviors that contribute to these societal challenges and fostering safer communities.
We raise awareness on critical issues including climate change, human right, youth or civic participation in governance, digital rights, and health. Using multimedia campaigns, town hall meetings, and social media outreach, we educate and mobilize communities toward positive change.
UNIMAC delivers practical training across sectors—leadership, ICT, reproductive health, civic education, and peacebuilding. Our capacity-building workshops are tailored to enhance skills and knowledge among women, youth, and community leaders and other income-generating activities.
We empower women through education, economic initiatives, leadership development, and advocacy. Programs include skills training, mentorship, and access to funding and networks, ensuring women are equipped to lead and thrive.
UNIMAC’s services reflect our commitment to equity, empowerment, and sustainable progress. We continue to build strong partnerships and inclusive programs to uplift communities in Cameroon and beyond.
