ABOUT US
UNIVERSAL MAIDENS ASSOCIATION CAMEROON (UNIMAC)Â ) is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering women and girls in Cameroon. Established in 2020 and obtained legal status in 2021, UNIMAC works to improve the lives of women through education, advocacy, and skills training programs. Our mission is to promote gender equality, eliminate discrimination, and support the personal and professional development of women and girls. With a strong focus on community engagement and partnerships, UNIMAC strives to create a more equitable society where women have the resources and support they need to thrive.
WHAT WE DO
The Universal Maidens Association Cameroon (UNIMAC) is committed to fostering community empowerment, gender equity, and sustainable development. Our service pillars are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on inclusive growth, peacebuilding, and human rights. Furthermore, our comprehensive range of services reflects our mission to create inclusive, informed, and proactive societies. Below are the core service areas that define our operational framework.
Our Objectives
We implement training programs and workshops to enhance women’s skills in leadership, communication, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. We raise awareness on important gender-related issues in Cameroon and advocate for policies that promote gender equality and women’s rights. Additionally, we organize health and wellness campaigns, workshops, and activities to promote the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of maidens.

Empowerment and Education
We provide access to resources, training, and mentorship programs to help women achieve financial security and independence. We support young women in Cameroon by offering educational opportunities, scholarships, and career advancement to improve their professional prospects. Additionally, we engage in community service projects, charity events, and social initiatives that benefit marginalized groups and promote social change.

Collaboration and Growth
We foster partnerships with other NGOs, businesses, and government agencies to leverage resources, expertise, and opportunities for maidens. We develop leadership skills among members through mentorship programs, leadership training, and opportunities for leadership roles within UNIMAC. To ensure the long-term success and growth of UNIMAC in Cameroon, we establish sustainable fundraising strategies, organizational structures, and governance systems. Additionally, we create safe spaces for women to share their experiences and support each other

Protect children
The organization also aims to protect children from exploitation and abuse. This includes providing them with education and healthcare, and helping them find safe homes.

Raise funds for the organization’s programs and activities
The organization relies on donations to fund its programs and activities. Donations can be made in cash or in kind. In-kind donations can include food, clothing, medical supplies, and educational materials.

Advocacy
UNIMAC advocates for policies and practices that promote equality, justice, and inclusive participation at all levels. Through campaigns, public dialogues, policymakers, international partners and stakeholder engagement, we champion the rights of marginalized groups, positive legislative and policy reforms that align with human rights especially women and youth

Database Creation
We develop and maintain databases to enhance data-driven decision-making and program effectiveness. These include registries for beneficiaries, vulnerable groups, community organizations, youth networks, and women’s initiatives, fostering collaboration and transparency

Entrepreneurship
UNIMAC supports economic empowerment through entrepreneurship training, incubation, and mentorship. We target women and youth, providing resources to help launch and scale businesses, thereby promoting financial independence and community development.

Fundraisers
The organization relies on support through donations to fund its programs and activities. Donations can be made in cash or in kind. In-kind donations can include; food, clothing, medical supplies, and educational materials.

Gender Equality
Our programs advocate for the rights of women and girls, promote equal opportunities, and combat gender-based violence. We conduct gender audits, community dialogues, and educational campaigns to dismantle harmful norms and a fair goal of inclusive society for all.

Humanitarian
UNIMAC delivers emergency relief and post-crisis support to displaced persons, survivors of gender-based violence, distribution, shelter, psychosocial services and communities affected by conflict or natural disasters. Our humanitarian efforts prioritize dignity, inclusion, and resilience-building.

Health

Legal Contracts
UNIMAC offers guidance and support in drafting and reviewing legal contracts for community initiatives, businesses, and civil society projects. This ensures compliance, accountability, and protection of rights in all engagements.

Prevent Social Ills
Our preventive programs target drug abuse, human trafficking, child labor, crime, early marriage, school dropout and gender-based violence. We use education, media, and peer advocacy to change attitudes and behaviors that contribute to these societal challenges and fostering safer communities.

Raise Awareness
We raise awareness on critical issues including climate change, human right, youth or civic participation in governance, digital rights, and health. Using multimedia campaigns, town hall meetings, and social media outreach, we educate and mobilize communities toward positive change.

Training
UNIMAC delivers practical training across sectors—leadership, ICT, reproductive health, civic education, and peacebuilding. Our capacity-building workshops are tailored to enhance skills and knowledge among women, youth, and community leaders and other income-generating activities.

Women Empowerment
We empower women through education, economic initiatives, leadership development, and advocacy. Programs include skills training, mentorship, and access to funding and networks, ensuring women are equipped to lead and thrive.
UNIMAC’s services reflect our commitment to equity, empowerment, and sustainable progress. We continue to build strong partnerships and inclusive programs to uplift communities in Cameroon and beyond.

Youth and Sustainable Development
UNIMAC engages youth as agents of change in the SDGs especially 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Our initiatives focus on digital innovation, climate action, education, and employment, promoting leadership and sustainable livelihoods for future generations.
