Meet our Team

UNIMAC is driven by a dedicated team of professionals and volunteers committed to advancing the rights, wellbeing, and empowerment of women and girls across Cameroon. Our staff bring together expertise in community development, advocacy, education, health, and humanitarian response, working closely with communities to design and deliver impactful programs. Guided by shared values of integrity, inclusion, and service, the UNIMAC team plays a central role in turning our mission into meaningful and lasting change.

AMEH MAURICE NGWA – CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, Board Member

Ameh Maurice Ngwa is the Co-founder and CEO of UNIMAC, a prominent gender advocate and civil society activist. With over 15 years of experience in humanitarian and development projects, also a dedicated Peace Ambassador. Ameh holds a BSc in Accountancy and is currently pursuing a BA in English Law at the University of Bamenda.
Additionally, the founder of Reachout Medical Foundation in Lobange-Konye, Meme Division, South West Region, Cameroon, where I’m demonstrating commitment to community service and social development.

NIBA LOUIS NGWA – SECRETARY GENERAL

Mr. Niba Louis Ngwa is a committed development professional and organizational leader, currently serving as Secretary General in UNIMAC. He brings strong experience in administration, coordination, and stakeholder engagement, with a focus on institutional development, governance, and community-focused initiatives. A holder of Bsc in Management and Technology, Professional Certifications in Project Management and Safety

 

NCHANG SYLVIA CHE – FINANCIAL SECRETARY

Madam Akosso Sylvia Nchang is a nurse based in Canada, Alberta, Calgary.
I have worked for 12years as a nurse and as a psychosocial counselor. One of the founding members and Financial Secretary of UNIMAC.

HRM BEATRICE ARIMOH FONKEM – TREASURER

Mrs. Beatrice Arimoh Sama is a committed development practitioner and social advocate with a strong focus on community empowerment, gender equity, and sustainable development. She has actively contributed to initiatives aimed at strengthening grassroots participation, promoting inclusive policies, and improving livelihoods for vulnerable populations. A holder of Master Degree in Anthropology, most influential dynamic Women award winner 2024 in Sierra Leone, Nigeria and more.
With experience in stakeholder coordination, program implementation, and advocacy, 

ESTHER SIT – HEAD OF GRANTS & FUNDRAISING

Esther Sit is an International Affairs professional with experience across risk intelligence and NGO engagement in Asia, Europe, and Africa.

As a Board Member and Head of Grants & Fundraising at UNIMAC, she helps design resource programs that empower girls and young women to live free from violence. With a strong background in policy research and advocacy, she works to amplify grassroots voices and promote gender equity.

BLESSING ALEDARE – HEAD OF MEDIA

Blessing Aledare is a Social Media Manager passionate about using digital platforms to create impact and drive meaningful conversations. She specializes in developing strategic content that amplifies nonprofit missions, strengthens community engagement, and inspires action.

At UNIMAC (Universal Maidens Association of Cameroon), she manages the organization’s social media presence, helping to highlight initiatives focused on girl-child education, empowerment, digital skills, and gender equality advocacy.

TECLAR AMBIRIGEN – MENTAL HEALTH SPECIALIST

Teclar Ambirigen is a Mental Health Specialist with Churchill Healthcare in the United Kingdom. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Health and is currently a PhD candidate. With over 20 years of experience as a nurse, she is the founder of Redemption Clinic in Tole, Buea, where she has led community health initiatives and expanded access to essential healthcare services.

Her work integrates clinical expertise, humanitarian service, and advocacy for the wellbeing of women, youths, and other vulnerable groups.

JEOM ANAM ARLY ASAAH – ADVISER

Registered nurse and lover of peace. As a woman, she is dedicated in advocating for the rights and empowerment of women.

ANISSA WEBB – HEAD OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Annissa Webb is a HEad of Project Management at UNIMMACC.

SAUDDY BARROS GALVIS – LEGAL ADVISER

I am an international lawyer with experience in human rights law, transitional justice, and international cooperation. My background includes managing legal cases, providing expert legal consultation, and conducting academic research on development policies and the rule of law, including an outstanding thesis on transitional justice in Colombia. I have worked in law firms, courts, and advisory roles, gaining valuable skills in administrative management and the resolution of complex cases. In addition, I have experience in migration and asylum policies in Europe, as well as in human rights.

LIBBY JARVIS – VOLUNTEER

Libby is passionate about sustainability, community development, and creating positive change through research, policy, and practical solutions. A graduate from the University of Sheffield with a First-Class BA in Geography, where she developed strong skills in data analysis, research, and critical thinking, and has since built on that foundation through varied professional experiences.

LAISIN BARKATU – VOLUNTEER

Laisin Barkatu is a trained nurse and a Master’s student in Psychiatry and Mental Health with a strong passion for women’s empowerment and community service. She has volunteer experience in mental health education, substance abuse awareness, and stigma reduction, working with vulnerable populations. Laisin is committed to leadership, advocacy, and using her skills to promote wellbeing and positive social change.

DR. MICHAEL W. KIMWELE – Member

Dr. Michael W. Kimwele is a seasoned cybersecurity expert and academic with over 20 years of experience in teaching, research, and leadership. He is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Computing and Information Technology (SCIT), JKUAT, where he has held key roles including Director, Deputy Director, and Acting Principal of the College of Pure and Applied Sciences.

 

Our Organizational Structure

UNIMAC operates under a well-defined governance and management structure designed to ensure accountability, efficiency, and effective program delivery. The organization is guided by a Board of Directors that provides strategic oversight and policy direction, while day-to-day leadership is handled by the Executive Director/CEO. Core departments—Administration & Operations, Programs & Projects, Communications & Advocacy, and Resource Development & Partnerships—work collaboratively to implement programs, manage resources, engage stakeholders, and mobilize support. This structure is further strengthened by technical and support services, including legal, IT, and volunteer coordination, enabling UNIMAC to deliver impactful, transparent, and sustainable interventions across communities in Cameroon.
